What Is a Wedding Website & What Should Be In The FAQs Section

A wedding website is a digital hub couples set up so guests can find all the details for the big day (and related events) in one place. Usually includes things like:

  • The date, time, location(s) for the ceremony/reception

  • Maps and travel & lodging info

  • RSVP tools

  • Wedding registry information

  • Itinerary or schedule of events

  • The couple’s story, bridal party / wedding party bios, photos, etc.

An FAQ section on the website is super helpful because:

  1. It reduces repeated questions — you won’t get so many individual texts asking “what time do I need to arrive,” or “is there parking?”

  2. It ensures everyone has the same, up-to-date info — less confusion.

  3. It helps guests, especially out-of-town ones, plan better (travel, accommodations, attire, etc.).

  4. It projects thoughtfulness & organization — guests feel considered and less stressed.

What Should Be in the FAQ Section

Your FAQ section should cover the questions guests will (or might) ask. The trick is to anticipate the needs of different types of guests: local vs out-of-town, people with children vs not, those who need travel or accessibility info, etc. Below are categories and specific questions pulled from best practices and real wedding FAQ guides. zola.com+3Riley & Grey+3WeddingWire+3

Tips on Writing Good FAQ Answers

  • Be clear & concise: short paragraphs or bullet points help. No one wants to read a wall of text.

  • Use your voice: be warm, kind, maybe even playful if that suits your personality. It’s more inviting than overly formal.

  • Bold or highlight critical details: RSVP deadlines, locations, special restrictions (plus-ones, children etc.).

  • Update as needed: If something changes (venue, time, rules), make sure FAQ reflects that so guests refer to current info.

  • Link out: If you have pages for registry, maps, travel, etc., link from the FAQ so people can dig deeper.

  • Anticipate follow-ups: Think of questions people might ask given your specific wedding setup (destination, outdoor, theme). Include those ahead of time.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How/When Do I RSVP?
Please RSVP online by June 1. Use the “RSVP” link above. If your invitation included meal choice or a plus-one, those are included in the form.

2. Can I Bring a Plus-One?
The names on the invitation represent those who are invited. We hope you understand that additional guests can’t be accommodated unless explicitly listed.

3. Are Children Invited?
While we love little ones, our wedding celebration will be adults only. (Unless otherwise noted on your invitation.)

4. Where is the Venue / How Do I Get There?
Ceremony & reception address: [Address with link to map]. Parking is available on site / nearby (street / lot / valet). For out-of-town guests, see our Accommodations page for hotel suggestions.

5. What Should I Wear?
Dress code is cocktail attire. Since part of the event is outdoors, we recommend footwear that can handle grass/gravel.

6. What About Dietary Restrictions?
Please let us know via the RSVP form if you have any allergies or special dietary needs. We’ll do our best to accommodate.

7. What’s the Timeline for the Day?
We plan for the ceremony to begin at 4 PM. Cocktail hour will follow, then dinner/dancing. The event formally ends around 10 PM.

8. Is There a Gift Registry?
Your presence is the greatest gift, but for those interested, we are registered at Store A, Store B and have a honeymoon fund link here.

9. What If It Rains / Outdoor Plans?
We’ll be using the venue indoors if it rains. Keep an eye on the website & email updates in case anything changes.

10. How Do I Contact Someone If I Have Other Questions?
