Of course there is a slight bias in my answer since I am a planner but the obvious answer is:
I'll put it to you this way, when the day comes, the last thing you want to worry about is...anything really. This is your big day, why SHOULD YOU WORRY? Hire someone to do that AND it doesn't have to break the bank either!
This is a common misconception. A lot of couples tell me that they already have a planner provided by the venue. This is highly unlikely for most venues and in most situations you are about to make A HUGE MISTAKE. Venue coordinators and catering managers are VERY important for the pre work of the wedding, they really do a lot and I always love working with them BUT they are not your event planners. THEIR PRIORITY IS THEIR VENUE, NOT YOU. They are going to your event in order to oversee their team and their venue, again, not for you.
In order for a wedding to be stress-free (or as close as possible to it) and for a wedding to go over like a dream, there needs to be a planner of some sort.
You might be thinking that hiring a planner is not within your budget, well think again!
There are many planning packages just dedicated to guaranteeing a flawless flow on your wedding day:
YES, THERE ARE MORE OPTIONS THAN JUST A FULL SERVICE WEDDING PLANNER.
Repeat after me: Day of Coordinator.
Day of coordinator is not what it seems. When you hire a day of coordinator from Busy Bee's Events, we start working over six weeks before your event. We contact all of the vendors you hire and create a comprehensive and in depth timeline for not only all of the vendors but also for the venue coordinator.
Imagine it's your wedding day and all is going well until your flower girl spills liquid foundation all over your WHITE wedding dress. This is a HUGE problem because now there is a HUGE stain on your wedding dress. Not one person in the room has a remedy and so you ask your catering manager for assistance...Now, I hate to break it to you but if there is an issue going on with the venue or there is some sort of catastrophe inside the hotel, they are going to prioritize the venue over you every single time.
Catering managers usually REQUIRE a Day Of Coordinator because they even know they have to prioritize the venue over the client every single time. Now, if you were to have a HUGE stain on your wedding dress and you ask your Busy Bee's day of coordinator for assistance, we come fully equipped for every worst case scenario. We have emergency bags filled with remedies for anything you can imagine from baby powder, to bobby pins, and even foot cushions for your heels.
Just take a second to think about it.
On one of the biggest days of your life, do you really want to worry about the smallest details of vendor set up?
While you are having your make up done, do you really want to stop and go downstairs to answer all of the questions of the vendors?
While you're trying to lace up your dress with your mom's assistance, do you really want to stop and make sure the shuttles are on time or even make sure the vendors are setting up in the amount of time allotted?
